It’s hard to believe that yesterday we celebrated our final day at Planetshakers City Church… 20 years ago, I walked in the back of a youth ministry in Adelaide and encountered God in a way that I had never experienced before. I thank God that a friend from school was bold enough to invite me to hear him speak.. a few weeks later I met the youth pastor, a guy named Russell Evans. I started on the worship team the next week, and Russell and his wife Sam have been my pastors ever since.

We had no idea back then what lay ahead, and look back after 20 years in wonder at the amazing things we have been a part of alongside Russell and Sam. From high school youth ministry to Youth Alive, from the small beginnings of Planetshakers Conference to seeing tens of thousands impacted every year… From starting Planetshakers City Church from zero and seeing it build to the incredible church it now is only 8 short years later, we truly are amazed and incredibly grateful for all that God has graciously allowed us to be part of building.

We are so grateful for all that our pastors, and close friends Russell + Sam have imparted in to our lives. Alex and I would not be who we are without their leadership, love and friendship. We are also incredibly thankful for our friends and family at Planetshakers City Church, our home church for the past 8 years. It has been an honour to serve you and worship with you… we have encountered God and seen Him do amazing things as we’ve met together… we will miss you beyond words, and you will always be ‘home’ to us.

But.. this is just the beginning… we know that what God has in store is greater than anything we’ve yet seen… we look forward to what lies ahead as we move to our new home.. the US of A… Keep us in your prayers!

Hey friends.. We are stoked to share some news with you… As some of you may have already heard, in the next month or two, we (my family) will be moving to the USA. It’s been an amazing journey over the last two years as we have sought God for what He has for this next season, and after more miracles than we can recount, we know this is the next step along that path.

By no means has this been an easy decision to make… Saying goodbye to family and friends, and our home church Planetshakers in Melbourne… And also to our amazing friends and pastors Russell and Sam Evans, who Alex and I have served with for over 20 years… We are incredibly blessed to have done life with such an amazing team, and overwhelmed that we’ve had a part to play in what God has done over the years through Planetshakers… But…. we know beyond a shadow of doubt that this is God’s plan, and that greater things lie ahead than what we can even imagine.

We are incredibly excited about this next step and look forward to seeing God’s plan unfold in our lives, and also for our kids. We are also excited about the opportunity of working with churhces, worship teams and artists throughout the US and overseas in a greater way as we stand together to bring the sound of Heaven to earth.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey along the way… For those who have prayed for us, encouraged us, blessed us and stood with us… We are truly grateful for your input in our lives!

We are believing 2012 will be an amazing year… A year of great friendships, great God encounters and great music!

Our hearts go out to our Pastors Russell & Sam Evans, Ashley & Jane Evans and Ps Andrew Evans on the passing of a mother, wife, and a mighty woman of God, Mrs Lorraine Evans. For many years, Alex and I had the amazing privilege of working under her leadership along side husband Ps Andrew Evans. The piano that sits in our house is a constant reminder of a woman who tirelessly sought to create an atmosphere of worship for others to encounter the Presence of God… an instrument that was well-loved and well-played by “Mrs E”, and leaves a legacy that shaped my world and set a path for me to travel as we have pursued the call to worship over the past two decades.

Russell, Ashley and Ps Andrew were worshipping around her bedside as she passed, singing “Lift Up Your Eyes”… I don’t think I’ll ever be able to sing that song the same way. What a joy knowing that she is with all of Heaven singing “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty…”

While we are incredibly saddened by her passing, we also rejoice that she is in a better place than us all. Our love and prayers to all the Evans family at this time.

Mrs E… we will miss you dearly.

We’ve just got back from a few days away playing with Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio and the Parachute Band in Brisbane, Melbourne and New Zealand. It was a great honour to be part of the Indescribable Worship tour in Australia and also Parachute Festival in NZ. We had some amazing nights… jam-packed with people giving it all in worship.
